Laboratory pH Meters Product Description
The ProLab 3000 professional laboratory pH meters were designed to perfectly match SI Analytics world class pH and ion selective electrodes. With a measuring range from -2.000 to +20.000 pH, an accuracy of 0.002 pH and 0.1 mV, and an automatic temperature measurement range of -31 to 302 °F (-35 to 150 °C) the professional laboratory pH meter is especially suited for demanding measurements in a research laboratory or process control lab.
Laboratory pH meter electrode calibration check
The ProLab 3000 laboratory pH meters achieve their accuracy by using a feature called CalClock. The CalClock feature provides the laboratory pH meters with a unique combination of sensor evaluation and a calibration timer which controls all relevant calibration settings. The laboratory pH meter’s sensor evaluation displays the pH electrode’s quality in increments. The laboratory pH meters monitor the pH electrode’s slope, zero point, and reaction time. The selected calibration interval is displayed by the laboratory pH meter as a countdown in six steps as a set of circular segments around the pH electrode which elapse proportionally to the calibration interval. When the time interval has elapsed the laboratory pH meter activates an optical and acoustic signal. The laboratory pH meter’s automatic calibration of up to 5 points and automatic buffer recognition of 22 buffer sets guarantee trustworthy pH measurement results of the highest quality. The user can employ his preferred buffers on the laboratory pH meters the same comfortable way as the SI Analytics DIN buffers and thus easily comply with the users specific SOP requirements. During the calibration process the laboratory pH meter can display either the buffer pH or the current mV value. The slope can be displayed in either % of in mv/pH and the asymmetry reading in mV or pH on the laboratory pH meter’s display screen.
Laboratory pH meter sensor and user recognition
The laboratory pH meter’s wireless sensor recognition and user identification features mean that every stored measurement can be assigned an electrode and user ID. The laboratory pH meter reads the pH electrode’s individual data (slope, zero point, ID number, and date of last calibration) directly from the special ID sensor. The ID sensor stores all new calibration data every time the sensor is re-calibrated thereby assuring that only the most recent data is used by the laboratory pH meter for calculation of the measured value. No additional cables are required for the laboratory pH meter to use the special ID feature, as the transponder is mounted in the sensor’s plug. This means that even when using multiple ID-electrodes on the same laboratory pH meter, the correct calibration data is always chosen automatically. The ID recognition process is performed automatically by the laboratory pH meters and does not require any manual settings. If sensors without the special ID function are used with the laboratory pH meters the sensor values are stored in the instrument, so existing sensors can be used without any issues.
The ProLab 3000 professional laboratory pH meters also comply with further requirements by allowing you to set administrator rights or set up user identification via an electronic ID card. A special key ring pendant with a transponder is utilized as an “ID card” to identify registered users with the laboratory pH meter. The pendant only needs to be placed onto the recognition field on the upper side of the laboratory pH meter. The transponder stores an individual 12 digit number that is read by the laboratory pH meter and assigned to each measurement and calibration. For full identification the additional entry of a password is required to use the laboratory pH meter. The laboratory pH meter’s administrator has rights to change this setting if full identification is not required. The laboratory pH meter runs the entire process automatically in the background and doesn’t require any user settings. Measurements and calibrations performed without prior user recognition are labeled by the laboratory pH meter as “anonymous” and can be sorted accordingly. Additionally, the laboratory pH meter’s sensor recognition records the pH electrode used by the individual user.
Laboratory pH meter case
With a timeless, classy design the professional laboratory pH meter’s case reflects the top quality rating of the ProLab instruments. Housed in a solid metal body the laboratory pH meter’s big and brilliant graphic display is protected by a one piece glass slide. The large QVGA brilliant color graphic display provides outstanding legibility minimizing reading errors on the laboratory pH meters. The laboratory pH meter’s powerful luminous display with backlighting is legible from six to nine meters away and at an angle. The ProLab 3000 laboratory pH meters offer the choice between the full display for pH, mV, or ISE (channel 1 or 2) and a split display for double pH (mV, ISE) for parallel display of channel 1 and 2. The two input channels are galvanically isolated on the laboratory pH meter. This isolation allows the laboratory pH meter to simultaneously measure with two pH electrodes even in the same container. The laboratory pH meter’s weight of approximately 5 1/2 pounds (2.5 kg) guarantees a firm base. With an IP 54 rating the laboratory pH meter electronics are completely sealed against dust and water splashes from all sides. The chemically resistant design also makes the ProLab laboratory pH meters easy to clean and disinfect. The S4D stand can be attached without tools either to the left or the right side of the laboratory pH meter to create an immovable unit. The three hinged construction of the laboratory pH meter’s arm was designed for maximum comfort during sample measurement and holding the electrode into the sample beaker.
Laboratory pH meter data functions
The laboratory pH meters calibration protocols comply with GLP requirements. The last ten calibrations along with 10000 date, time, and ID stamped measurement results can be recalled from the laboratory pH meter’s memory. The data can be stored on the laboratory pH meters in seven selectable intervals from 1 second to 60 minutes in addition to being able to select the measuring parameters. With a clock rate of 300 MHz the laboratory pH meter can take rapid measurements. Additionally the 32 MB of flash memory and 32 MB of RAM allow for a huge amount of data recordings, however if this is not enough memory a USB stick can be directly connected to the laboratory pH meter to increase the memory capacity. The laboratory pH meters can have different colors assigned to the measuring parameters and have limits set to alarm when certain values are exceeded. All data is stored by the laboratory pH meter according to 21 CFR Part 11 in hierarchy levels with user identification. The ProLab 3000 professional laboratory pH meters have open communication with a large number of interfaces such as USB slave, USB host, and RS 232. The laboratory pH meter can export data in either CSV or XML format. The laboratory pH meters USB host offers connection to devices such as a mouse, PC keyboard, memory stick, USB hard disk, printer, and barcode reader. The laboratory pH meter can communicate to all peripheral devices at the same time by connecting a hub switch to the USB host. No adapters are required to interface the laboratory pH meters to your PC and peripherals such as printers and USB sticks are automatically recognized. Operating the laboratory pH meters is similar to a PC by using a menu bar. Navigation on the laboratory pH meters can be done via either the navigation keys or the included mouse. Text and numbers can be entered directly into the laboratory pH meter’s 12 key keypad. All functions can be accessed via the laboratory pH meter’s navigation menu similar to Microsoft Windows. The laboratory pH meter’s main functions are linked to preset keys. Also, similar to a PC the laboratory pH meter’s firmware can be upgraded using free updates posted on our website.
Other laboratory pH meter functions
The laboratory pH meters have an integrated stability control feature which checks the measured value’s stability. The measured value is only released when certain stability criteria is reached by the laboratory pH meter. The criterion is adapted to SI Analytics electrodes to achieve the best compromise between accuracy and speed of measurement on the laboratory pH meter. This prevents the laboratory pH meter from making measurement errors due to premature readings of unstable values. The laboratory pH meter’s stability control feature is automatically activated for all sensor calibrations. For measurements the laboratory pH meters’ stability control feature can be switched on or off. The laboratory pH meters can also accept ISE measurements with a measuring range from 1.0E-40 to 9.9E39 mg/l using a 2 to 9 point calibration with standards from 1.00E-30 to 1.00E30 mg/l. The laboratory pH meters also offer several special ISE functions including standard addition, double standard addition, standard subtraction, sample addition, sample subtraction, and dummy data addition. Complete IQ and OQ documentation is available for the laboratory pH meters.
