Do you need to log OBD2/J1939 data from a truck or bus?
CSS 1.5 meter adapter cable fits the OBD2 connector found near your trucks’s steering wheel and lets you easily connect e.g. a CANedge CAN logger to start recording OBD2/J1939 data.
CSS cable uses the same pinout for Channel 1 as our standard OBD2 adapter cable. In addition, it connects pins 3 (CAN-H) and 11 (CAN-L) of the OBD2 connector for logging J1939 data via Channel 2. This is useful in some heavy duty vehicles where the OBD2 connector also enables access to the J1939 data via these pins (as per the standardized Volvo 2013 OBD2 connector pinout).


About the CSS adapter cable
CSS adapter cable is useful in trucks/buses that provide access to J1939 data via pins 3 and 11 of the OBD2 connector.
Specifically, CSS cable lets you connect a CSS CAN bus data logger directly to the standard OBD2 connector. Like our standard OBD2 adapter, this may provide you with access to the CSS J1939 data and/or enable you to request data via OBD2 requests. However, some trucks/buses do not provide access to the J1939 data via the standard OBD2 pins (6 and 14), but instead provide it as a 2nd CAN bus (via pins 3 and 11).
CSS cable makes it easy to use a CANedge (2 x CAN logger) to both connect to the standard OBD2 pins (via CH1) and optional J1939 pins (via CH2).
