RDO PRO-X Probe for Process Control & Aquaculture Applications

The In-Situ RDO PRO-X Probe uses breakthrough optical technology to measure DO in demanding process environments. The RDO PRO-X Probe offers several advantages.

Robust and Reliable

  • No calibration, conditioning, or membranes required
  • Stands up to harsh conditions—Inert construction will not corrode in saline samples.
  • Insensitive to common interferences such as hydrogen sulfide, chloride, ammonium, and oils
  • Sensor health diagnostics ensure peak performance

Cost Effective

  • Includes standard 10-m cable
  • Includes integral 4-20 mA, Modbus/RS485, and SDI-12 signal outputs
  • Eliminates the need for a separate, costly transmitter/controller

Accurate Results

  • ±0.1 mg/L accuracy from 0 to 8 mg/L DO
  • ±0.2 mg/L accuracy from 8 to 20 mg/L DO
  • ±10% of reading from 20 to 50 mg/L DO
  • Fast response to DO and temperature changes
  • Consistent, reproducible results (< 0.05 mg/L reproducibility)

Applications

  • Aquaculture operations
  • Dam discharge applications
  • Municipal or industrial water and wastewater treatment plants
  • Stormwater management systems
  • Real-time remediation systems—pump and treat

Simple Design

  • Requires only 8 to 36 VDC power—No costly external transmitters or controllers needed.
  • Deploys quickly—Calibration coefficients, serial number, and expiration clock are loaded into the sensor cap.

Key Specifications

Accurate readings:

  • ±0.1 mg/L accuracy from 0 to 8 mg/L DO
  • ±0.2 mg/L accuracy from 8 to 20 mg/L DO
  • ±10% of reading from 20 to 50 mg/L

Flexible communications and power requirements:
Includes integral Modbus/RS485, SDI-12, and 4-20 mA signal outputs. Uses 8 to 36 VDC input.

Known interferences:

  • Alcohols > 5%; hydrogen peroxide > 3%; sodium hypochlorite (commercial bleach) > 3%; gaseous sulfur dioxide; gaseous chlorine
  • Organic solvents and certain petroleum-based hydrocarbons may swell the sensing element and destroy it. Examples include, but are not limited to, acetone, chloroform, methylene chloride, and BTEX compounds.

Durable design: Abrasion-resistant foil withstands fouling, high sediment loads, and rapid flow rates.
