Assessing Impacts of Construction

During construction, sediment from eroding soils can enter surface water runoff and impact the water quality of rivers, streams, wetlands, and surrounding natural areas. Dewatering and stormwater runoff increase chances of sediment loading; stream bank erosion; stream bed scouring; habitat degradation; and excess nutrient transport. Construction can also impact groundwater levels. One way to manage construction impacts is to monitor water quality and groundwater levels.

In-Situ® Inc. offers durable instrumentation for monitoring. Level TROLL® Data Loggers, the TROLL®9500 Water Quality InstrumentAqua TROLL® Data LoggersTROLL® Link Telemetry Systems, and radios help construction site managers monitor impacts and implement corrective action as soon as a problem is detected.
